The oriental healing arts often emphasise creating balance and flow within an individual's life as reflected in Nature. "As within, so without" Movement forms such as Aikido and T'ai Chi are based on moving from one's Centre or hara, and are often defensive in origin. Their practice may increase positive human resources and protect the individual from the negative forces in life.
Shiatsu in essence is about making meaningful contact with you as a unique Individual. My role in shiatsu therapy is about making meaningful contact with you by means of empathetic listening and emotional warmth. I make an affirming contact by means of empathetic listening and emotional warmth. However, the form in Shiatsu stems from resonance in the hands, grounded contact from my heart-sense.
Once that connection is moving and feels right, then my work as therapist is to follow that flow and allow it to move in a dynamic way for your benefit so it can be integrated.
Once I make these links, your energy may be revitalised and a lot of healing may occur because the body tends to return to balance, or homeostasis.
Shiatsu sessions with me will gently reconnect you to your emotional and physical well-being with respect at a level that requires no spoken language.
